DISCOUNT RATES APPLIED BY AUGEREAU-HUE & PERO, NOTARIES
With the exception of its role in an advisory capacity, not involving the recording of a notarised deed and the recording of certain so-called “unregulated” deeds (secteur libre), notaries’ activities are mainly subject to a single rate set by decree.
Notaries’ services are therefore charged the same regardless of the client or geographical area. Depending on the deeds concerned, the price is either fixed or proportional to the capital concerned by the transaction.
Law No. 2015-990 of 6 August 2015, Decree No. 2016-230 of 26 February 2016 updated by Decree No. 2020-179 of 28 February 2020 and the Order of 28 February 2020 set the regulated fees for notaries that are now included in the French Commercial Code in Articles L444-1 to L444-4, R444-1 to R444-3, R444-8 to R444-12 and A444-53 to A444-186.
Notary can now apply a maximum discount to their fees over and above a certain price band.
